Drug delivery systems are methods which are used to ensure that drugs get into the body and reach the area where they are needed. Extended Release dosage forms are formulated in such manner as to make the contained drug available over an extended period of time following administration. Sustained release tablets are commonly taken only once or twice daily, compared with counterpart conventional forms that may have to take three or four times daily to achieve the same therapeutic effect. Present study was to evaluate the effect of natural gums like Carrageenan, Oryza Sativa and Gum Arabic in the formulation on the in vitro dissolution of Oxprenolol Hydrochloride sustained release tablet.

Lipospheres (LS) were utilized for the conveyance of numerous sorts of medications by different courses of organization. Lipid based conveyance frameworks like strong lipid nanoparticles, lipospheres are being created as substitutes for "polymer based conveyance frameworks" because of the expanding danger related concerns of monomers on intracellular handling of polymers and alluring advantages offered by lipids as bearers. Strong, water-insoluble lipospheres including a strong hydrophobic center, having a layer of a phospholipid inserted on the surface of the center that contain an API, antigen, immunization and bug control are revealed for utilization in a creature. The bioactive compound is broken down or scattered in the strong lipid network of the inner center. Lipospheres have a few points of interest over other conveyance frameworks, for example, better physical soundness, minimal effort of fixings, simplicity of readiness and scale-up, high dispersibility in a watery medium, high entanglement of hydrophobic medications, controlled molecule size, and amplified arrival of captured medication after organization, from a couple of hours to a few days. This survey article concentrates on redesigned data on a few parts of lipospheres, including readiness systems, sanitization, stockpiling and in vitro assessment strategies. Lipospheres have different applications, for example, controlled medication discharge, enhance physical soundness furthermore in protein and peptide and immunization conveyance.

Siddha system of medicine is one among the ancient Indian system of medicine. The word Siddha denotes one who has achieved some extraordinary powers (siddhi). In our system first preference is given for plant-based medicine. Herbal remedies and treatment aim to clean the body and fight against toxins and diseases. Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchial airway. Bronchitis, is a major health issue in many developing and developed countries. Bronchitis, both acute and chronic is prevalent throughout the world and is one of the top five reasons for childhood physician visits in countries. Bronchitis occurs most commonly in children younger than 2 years with another peak seen in children aged 9-15 years. Doctor may prescribe a cough suppressant. In most cases, you should simply do all the things you usually would do for a cold: It produces dizziness, headache, vomiting, drowsiness, and skin rashes. Doctor may prescribe a 5-10 days course of broad-spectrum antibiotics, which fight a range of bacteria, may cause an overweight in children. So, the Anti-inflammatory and anti-pyretic activity of Elathi kuligai was carried out in Carrageenan-induced paw edema and Brewer’s yeast induced pyrexia in Wister rats. The study result concluded that the drug Elathi kuligai has got significant Anti- inflammatory and anti-pyretic activity.
Siddha system is an ancient and unique system, have plenty of medicines which cures many disease without side effects. The present clinical study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy and safety of siddha mineral formulation ‘Velvangaparpam’ in the treatment of bleeding haemorrhoids. Haemorrhoids are a dilatation of superior, middle, inferior veins of the anal canal. They are 4 grades of haemorrhoids. A clinical trial was conducted in 40 patients with 1st degree haemorrhoids in Arignar Anna Government Hospital of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy, Chennai. The trial drug Velvangaparpam was administered in all patients at the dose of 100mg twice a day with ghee, treatment period is 48 days. The clinical improvement shown by cases treated with Velvangaparpam was significant. Before drug administration to patients, the haematological, protoscopical observation are noted. Administration of Velvangaparpam remarkably (P<0.001) restored. The clinical symptoms of bleeding per rectum, constipation, are removed. Overall results revealed that out of 40 patients 24 patients had good improvement, 10 had moderate relief, 6 patients showed poor response. The results clearly have shown that the Velvangaparpam treated to bleeding haemorrhoids gave good results and reliving the symptoms. There were no new or unexpected symptoms noticed during the course of treatment.
The present work deals with the development of Diltiazem base loaded polymeric matrix using different polymers. The preliminary screening was carried out for the selection of best polymer. A diffusion mediated matrix controlled rectal drug delivery system for Diltiazem base was successfully prepared using different polymers like EVA(VA 40%), EC, ERS 100 and combination polymer ratios of ERL 100: ERS 100 in the ratios of 1: 4 using mercury substrate method and all matrices were evaluated using different physiochemical parameters. Out of four formulations, F1 was the optimized formulation with maximum Q/square root of T release rate.
Nanotechnology a next generation Techniques and rapidly developing subdivision have many advantages including highly specific medical interventions for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, including cancer disease. Nanotechnology is an emerging branch of science for designing tools and devices of size 1–100 nm, with unique functions at the cellular, atomic and molecular levels. Over the past two decades, the rapid developments in nanotechnology have allowed the incorporation of multiple therapeutic, sensing, and targeting agents into nanoparticles, for detection, prevention, and treatment of cancer diseases. Nanoparticles offer many advantages as drug carrier systems since they can improve the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs, modify pharmacokinetics, increase drug half-life by reducing immunogenicity, improve bioavailability, and diminish drug metabolism. They can also enable a tunable release of therapeutic compounds and the simultaneous delivery of two or more drugs for combination therapy. Carbon nanotube Techniques have been developed to produce nanotubes in sizeable quantities, including arc discharge, laser ablation, and chemical vapor deposition. The present article focuses on the current status and the future implications of nanotechnologies into diagnostic and therapeutic applications in various types of disease.

A facile and highly efficient route has been developed for the synthesis of 14-aryl-14H-dibenzo[a,j] xanthenes derivatives by condensation of substituted benzaldehyde and β-naphthol were carried out in the presence of catalytic amount of titanium dioxide (TiO2) under microwave irradiation and conventional method. The momentous advantages of the present method are short reaction time, excellent yields and green aspects by use of non-toxic, inexpensive, recyclable heterogeneous catalyst, avoiding toxic catalyst and hazardous solvent.
In order to overcome the drawbacks of conventional drug delivery systems, several technical advancements have led to the development of controlled drug delivery system that could revolutionize method of medication and provide a number of therapeutic benefits like multiple dosing and single doses of sustained and controlled delivery formulations. Oral controlled release drug delivery is a drug delivery system that provides the continuous oral delivery of drugs at predictable and reproducible kinetics for a predetermined period throughout the course of GI transit and also the system that target the delivery of a drug to a specific region within the GI tract for either a local or systemic action. Over the past decades an entirely new technique for the delivery of a drug and other biologically active agents has been developed this technique for the drug administration is termed Sustained release or controlled release. Sustained release tablet owing a twofold or greater reduction in frequency of administration of a drug in comparison with the frequency required by a conventional dosage form. It is designed to maintain constant levels of a drug in the patient's bloodstream by releasing the drug over an extended period. Maintaining constant blood levels of the drug in the bloodstream increases the therapeutic effectiveness of the drug. All the pharmaceutical products formulated for systemic delivery via the oral route of administration, irrespective of the mode of delivery (immediate, sustained or controlled release) and the design of dosage form (either solid dispersion or liquid), must be developed within the intrinsic characteristics of GI physiology.
